Alight Motion 5.0.273.1028425 for Android

Alight Motion 5.0.273.1028425 is an animation app for Android that lets you build motion graphics and video edits directly on a phone. You can download Alight Motion for Android from Google Play; the app is free to install, and it is published by Alight Creative, Inc.

What Alight Motion is

Most video editors on a phone are built around cutting clips and adding music. Alight Motion approaches the job from the animation side: a project is a set of video clips, images, text and shapes that you animate, so each of them can move and change over time. That makes it popular with people who make short intros, animated titles, lyric videos and stylised edits for social networks, where the movement of each element matters more than the length of the clip. Wikidata describes it as animation software for mobile devices, and it is also available on iOS. Because everything happens on the phone, you can start a project on the go and export it without moving files to a computer, which is the main reason creators choose it over desktop tools.

System requirements

The developer's help centre lists the following:

• Android 6.0 or higher; Android 7.0 or higher is recommended for smoother performance.
• At least 1.5 GB of RAM; more than 2 GB is recommended.
• Android tablets on Android 6.0 or later are supported. The interface is not designed for large screens yet, but all features work.
• Devices on Android 5.x and older are not supported.
• There is no Windows or macOS version.

The installer is about 143.49 MB according to catalogue data, and projects with many layers and long clips need extra free storage on top of that.

How to install it

1. Open the Alight Motion page on Google Play and tap Install.
2. Launch the app and allow access to photos and videos when asked.
3. Create a new project, choose the aspect ratio for your target platform and add your first layer.
4. If you run into problems with updates, check the installation and updates section of the official help centre at alightmotion.com.

Getting smooth playback

Animation is demanding for a phone. Close other apps before editing, keep the preview quality lower while you work and switch it back up only for export. Split long projects into several shorter ones if the preview starts to stutter, and keep enough free storage so the app can write temporary files.

Price and safety

Alight Motion is free to download and use. Install it only from Google Play or the links on the official website: modified APK files offered as unlocked versions are a common way to spread malware and can stop working after any update. Review the permissions it asks for and keep the app updated.
